The Parisians have chosen their future metro. Called all December to decide on the design of the trains of lines 15, 16 and 17 - whose first portions should come into service by 2025 - the inhabitants of the Île-de-France opted for a model with "all-encompassing lines for nose and oar", reveals CNews Monday.

Out of 13,000 voters online, 40% voted for the second of the three options submitted to them. The popular train, with extra-wide windshields, enjoying a panoramic view, will be flanked in particular by luminous strips to announce its arrival in station to the travelers at quay.

The Parisians, "actors of the modernization of the network". These metro trains of the future "Grand Paris Express" - a metropolitan extension project intended to extend the existing network of some 200 km to the suburbs - are meant to be accessible to all. Driven automatically, they can push peaks to 110 km / h. "I want travelers to be actors in the modernization of the network, which is why I wanted to associate them with the choice of design for the future subway in the Paris region," said Valérie Pécresse, president of IDF Mobilités at CNews.

Four new lines. The trains of line 15 will consist of a set of six cars, and those of lines 16 and 17 trains of three wagons. Line 18, which should be completed after 2030, will have a different design due to a different operating system, says CNews again.
